CONSULTING ACTUARY
Dennis Hulet, FSA, MAAA
Dennis Hulet is a consulting actuary with Axene Health Partners, LLC. Dennis brings many years of consulting and healthcare benefits and pricing experience. He returns to AHP after leading the Medicare actuarial activities at Molina Healthcare, Inc. for over seven years. His work included oversight of the actuarial aspects of the Medicare Advantage bid process including expanding and training additional Medicare actuarial staff. The actuarial work included claims experience analysis and reporting, risk score monitoring and projection for Parts C and D for both Medicare Advantage and Medicare-Medicaid Plans. The work also included review of all administrative expense data for reporting and projection of non-benefit expense (NBE) as part of the Medicare Advantage bid process. His work at Molina included oversight and review of monthly claims liabilities for all Molina products in two major Molina states.
Dennis was with AHP for four years prior to joining Molina. He was also a Principal with Reden & Anders (now Optum) and with Milliman for many years prior to first joining AHP. As a consultant, Dennis created many client-specific financial models to address the challenges of assuming and sharing risk and allocation of resources in the healthcare benefits and provider markets. His clients spanned the breadth of healthcare provider and insurer entities including unions, associations, traditional carriers, HMO, PPOs, medical groups, hospitals and ancillary providers.
Dennis and his wife have six children and 15 grandchildren. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force after six years of service. He has a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Brigham Young University and is a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Over his career he has been a speaker at many actuarial and other industry conferences in the US and abroad.
