Chris Slaybaugh joined the Pittsburgh office of Axene Health Partners, LLC in 2016 as one of the firm’s consulting actuaries. He brings a wealth of experience in design and support of value-based provider reimbursement models, including Patient Centered Medical Home, Gain Share, Risk Share, Partner Product, and other targeted Pay For Value programs for Commercial Risk, ASO, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid populations. Support for these programs includes financial modeling, measurement and reporting of performance, and working to implement these programs with provider stakeholders, including clinical leaders and hospital CFOs.

Prior to joining AHP, Chris led a team at Highmark Health in the Enterprise Actuarial and Informatics department. Additionally, Chris regularly worked with physicians to produce population health analytics and design specialist efficiency and care alignment programs.

Chris has also held actuarial positions with Lincoln General Insurance Company, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, and Health America (i.e., subsidiary of Coventry, now Aetna). In those roles, he was responsible for IBNR estimation/reserve reporting and trend reporting and analysis.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics with a minor in statistics from Messiah College in Grantham, PA. He is Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (2014) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (2008). He lives in the Pittsburgh area with his wife and son.
