David Bohmfalk joined Axene Health Partners, LLC in 2008, following 25 years of successful actuarial experience that has included serving in a number of senior-level health actuarial positions. His actuarial career includes both actuarial consulting positions and in-house actuarial leadership positions within health insurance companies.

His health actuarial experience includes consulting and in-house services for a variety of health care organizations including:

• Health plans: HMOs, PPOs, managed care plans, Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans, insurance companies, etc.
• Healthcare providers: hospitals, medical groups, ancillary providers, etc.
• Various government programs: Medicare, Medicaid.
• Employer health benefit plan sponsors

David has served as Vice President and lead PPO actuary for Paci Care, a United Healthcare company, managing the company’s professional reimbursement unit for Pacific region states. In this role he served as Appointed Actuary with overall responsibility for PPO pricing and all actuarial reserves and liabilities for PacifiCare’s Life/Health companies. He has also served as Vice President and Appointed Actuary for FHP Life Insurance Company, responsible for all of the company’s actuarial functions, including product pricing, reserving, regulatory compliance and reinsurance.

He has also served in a senior actuarial consulting capacity for Ernst & Young, LLP, where he provided health actuarial consulting services for numerous organizations, served in the role of Appointed Actuary for various HMO’s and insurance companies, and served as lead auditing actuary for GAAP/Statutory audits.

In addition to his actuarial credentials, David earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of California.

David is married and has two children.
